Background

Stokes Environmental Associates, Ltd. (SEA); a small, family-owned/operated environmental consulting firm in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a full-time Environmental Professional for immediate and permanent hire.

This position will provide opportunities for professional development in key technical skills and project management ability. The ideal candidate is expected to be a multi-talented professional with good communication skills, good technical writing capabilities, and the ability to work independently within a professional and team-oriented environment. Individual must possess strong organizational skills, be highly motivated, and remain client focused.

SEA’s service area is concentrated in Hampton Roads, southeastern Virginia, and northeastern North Carolina. There will be balanced opportunities for working in the outdoors as well as performing the necessary office tasks.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience performing at least one of the following services: Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation investigations, NEPA Assessments, wetland delineations, or industrial hygiene services. A bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or higher in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, Earth Science, Geography, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline is required, and an advanced degree is a plus. Physical ability to perform field work, collect environmental samples and data, and navigate industrial sites or uneven terrain in the natural environment are required.

The position is full-time and permanent, with a competitive salary consistent with the candidate’s experience and capabilities, ranging from $50,000 to $85,000. The benefit package offered includes 90% employer-paid medical insurance, pension plan, paid time off, and flexible work hours. Background

Applied Laboratory Services, LLC. (ALS), a small family-owned/operated, full-service environmental testing and consulting firm in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a full-time immediate Environmental Field Technician for projects in Hampton Roads. No experience is necessary, as the company will provide all necessary training associated with the position and that is required for appropriate Commonwealth of Virginia Licensing, leaving plenty of room for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities and duties will include overseeing, documenting, and air monitoring associated with remediation/industrial hygiene and environmental projects associated with renovations and/or demolition projects.

Applicants must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. An Associates or Bachelors degree in Environmental- or Science-related field is a plus.
