Background

Stokes Environmental Associates (“SEA”), a small family-owned/operated, full-service environmental consulting and testing firm in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a full-time immediate Wetlands Professional for projects in and around Hampton Roads.

The successful candidate will have at least one year experience performing wetland delineations and/or preparing permit applications. The wetland professional will become a member of our skilled team of wetland and environmental professionals serving clients in southeast Virginia. We seek a multi-talented professional for continued business growth.

Overview

This position includes performing tidal and non-tidal wetland delineations and preparing permit applications. In addition to wetland services, you will have opportunities to expand your skills and participate in additional consulting service areas within the company’s range of services.

Qualifications

A BS or higher degree in environmental science, ecology geology biology chemistry, natural resources, environmental engineering, or related degree.

Specialized knowledge and expertise in wetland science, regulation, or permitting is required. This includes the knowledge of the plants, soil types, and hydrology indicators typically found in southeast Virginia. Experience with wetland permitting programs of the US Army Corps of Engineers and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality is a plus.

This position will provide opportunities for professional development in key technical skills and project management ability. Qualifications

A bachelorā€™s degree (BA or BS) or higher in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, Earth Science, Geography, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline is required, and an advanced degree is a plus. Physical ability to perform field work, collect environmental samples and data, and navigate industrial sites or uneven terrain in the natural environment are required.

(ALS), a small family-owned/operated, full-service environmental testing and consulting firm in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a full-time immediate Environmental Field Technician for projects in Hampton Roads. No experience is necessary, as the company will provide all necessary training associated with the position and that is required for appropriate Commonwealth of Virginia Licensing, leaving plenty of room for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities and duties will include overseeing, documenting, and air monitoring associated with remediation/industrial hygiene and environmental projects associated with renovations and/or demolition projects.

Applicants must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. An Associates or Bachelors degree in Environmental- or Science-related field is a plus.
