Applied Laboratory Services, LLC, (ALS) has been providing high quality industrial hygiene services to customers in industry, government, and the private sector since 1995. ALS provides industrial hygiene, laboratory, and training services, with a focus on asbestos, lead, mold, and hazardous materials. ALS offers a variety of services related to asbestos, lead, indoor air quality and mold. ALS manages all aspects of asbestos and lead-based paint projects including design services, inspections, monitoring, analyses and post abatement services.

Our team of highly qualified professionals include Chemists, Biologists, Industrial Hygienists, Inspectors, and Environmental Scientists. All necessary analyses are performed by accredited and licensed laboratories specializing in environmental methodologies, with in-house analysis of asbestos and mold under our NVLAP (Lab Code 200515-0) and AIHA-LAP, LLC (Lab ID# LAP-102666) credentials.

Our technicians are licensed for analysis of asbestos fibers in air using PCM methodology under the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) 582 Methods.

ALS performs inter-laboratory proficiency testing (“round-robin”) as well as duplicate/blind analyses and other quality assurance/quality control procedures to assure valid results. ASTM Method D7391-17E1 supplemented by ALS-110 is used for nonviable air sample analysis and ASTM D7658-17 supplemented by ALS-111 is used for nonviable bulk and tape sample analysis.

TRAINING
ALS provides Virginia EPA and Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act training and initial refresher classes. ALS meets the requirements for licensing in the Commonwealth of Virginia for asbestos and lead disciplines, along with mold, PCBs, asbestos and lead awareness, OSHA and HAZWOPER refresher training programs.
