Wetland Professional/Project Manager is needed immediately for full time permanent position at environmental consulting firm in Norfolk, Virginia. We offer full medical benefits and competitive salary.

The successful candidate will have completed the Army Corps of Engineers Wetland training course, and have one to two years’ experience in delineations and/or preparing permit applications. The wetland professional will work with a team of wetland and environmental professionals to develop and expand our superb existing wetland client relationships in southeast Virginia. POSITION OVERVIEW 

This position includes performing tidal and non-tidal wetland delineations, delineating stream boundaries, delineating resource protection areas, and preparing permit applications. In addition to wetland services, you will have opportunities to expand your skills and participate in additional consulting services areas within the company’s range of services.

The project manager’s tasks and responsibilities include preparing proposals, performing field investigations, and wetland delineations in accordance with the US Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual and Regional Supplements, preparing joint permit applications and mitigation plans, manage consulting projects to scope, schedule, and budget working cooperatively with a high performance team of environmental professionals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

BS in environmental science, ecology, geology, biology, chemistry, natural resources, environmental engineering, or related degree. 

Specialized knowledge and expertise in wetland science, regulation, and permitting. This includes knowledge of the dominant plants, soil types, and hydrology indicators typically found in southeast Virginia, as well as knowledge and experience with wetland regulatory programs of the US Army Corps of Engineers and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. Experience preparing JPAs and coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies to obtain wetland permits is highly desirable.

Experience with GPS, MS Word, Excel, computer mapping, and other necessary software, and technical writing abilities.

Additional knowledge and experience in one or more of the firm’s other consulting service areas is a plus for any candidate to include Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, NEPA studies including endangered species evaluations, Indoor Air Quality studies, and additional service areas which are listed on our website.
